Getting started

What is Gotchu?
Gotchu lets anyone help pay a real person’s essential bill — electricity, water, rent, tuition, medical, internet and more. You swipe through verified requests and give any amount you like. People who need help can submit a bill for review.
Is Gotchu free?
Creating an account and requesting help is free. If a fee ever applies to a gift, it will be shown clearly before you confirm.
Which countries are supported?
Gotchu is built for people worldwide, starting in the Philippines. Requests keep their own currency. Online payments currently support Philippine-peso bills; more currencies are coming.
How do I sign up?
Go to gotchupay.com/login, choose “Sign up with Email”, then enter the 6-digit code we email you. You’ll also create a 6-digit MPIN that unlocks the app on your device.

Giving

How do I help pay a bill?
Open Discover, swipe right or tap the heart, choose an amount (or pay the whole remaining balance), then finish on our payment partner’s secure page with GCash, Maya or card. You’ll see “We gotchu!” when it’s confirmed.
Where does my money go?
Your gift is recorded against that specific bill. Gotchu’s goal is that gifts go toward the biller — the utility, school or hospital — rather than as cash to the person.
Can I give anonymously?
Yes. Turn on “Give anonymously” on the payment screen, or make it your default in Profile → Privacy. The recipient will see “Someone” instead of your name.
My payment went through but I don’t see it
Confirmations usually arrive within seconds. If it’s still pending after a few minutes, check Activity, then open a support ticket with your gift reference (it starts with GC-). You will never be charged twice for the same gift.
Can I get a refund?
We refund gifts when the bill can’t be paid, if you were charged twice or the wrong amount, or if a request turns out to be fraudulent. Open a ticket in Profile → Support with your gift reference.

Requesting help

What do I need to submit a request?
A clear photo or PDF of your latest bill, the amount and due date, the biller’s name and a short story. You can add up to 5 photos and a short video (max 20 MB) and choose which ones helpers can see.
Who can see my bill?
Only Gotchu’s verification team. Helpers never see your bill, account number or address — just your first name, location, story and the photos you chose to share.
How long does review take?
Most requests are reviewed within 24 hours. If we need more information we’ll message you; update the request and send it again.
Why was my request declined?
Usually the bill was unclear, didn’t match your details, was a duplicate, or was outside what Gotchu supports. The reason is shown in My Requests. You can reply through a support ticket.

Account & safety

How does ID verification work?
You photograph a government ID (PhilSys, passport, driver’s license, UMID and more) and take a quick selfie with our partner Didit. Gotchu receives only the result — your ID images stay with Didit.
How do I turn on two-step verification?
Go to Profile → Security and set up an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator. Save your backup codes somewhere safe.
I forgot my password
On the login screen tap “Forgot password?”, enter your email and use the 6-digit code we send to choose a new password. You’ll be signed out of other devices for safety.
How do I report a suspicious request or user?
Open a support ticket in Profile → Support and choose “Report abuse or fraud”, or email us. We review every report.
How do I delete my account?
Profile → Settings & Privacy → Delete account. Your profile and uploads are removed; we keep only the minimum financial records the law requires.

No answers match that search. Contact us and we’ll help.
